About The Position

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work in the medical department at the Cumberland County Prison located in Carlisle, PA. Schedules available: Full Time Night Shift (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)

Requirements

• Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to function under supervision
• Demonstrate clinical competency

Nice To Haves

• Experience in correctional health care delivery system, a plus

Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain, update, and work with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure.
• Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
• Conducting sick calls for inmates/patients and providing treatment for illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by the PCM Medical Director.
• Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmates/patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of care.
• Record, retrieve, and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.
• MAT Nurses will be responsible for Medication Administration and documentation.
• MAT Nurses will also be responsible for attending weekly MAT meetings and IDT meetings.
