Requirements

LPN in good standing.
Must have a valid driver's license and live in reasonable distance from Washington County.
Must be able to pass a background check and pass a drug test
Will be trained in the Department of Developmental Disabilities medication administration (categories 1, 2, and 3).
Excellent documentation, organizational, assessment, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently or with a team, and travel between service locations and respond to urgent health concerns.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

Medication Administration Oversight
Working with Company RN, ensure compliance and oversite with applicable medication administration rules
In home sites, review medication administration and treatment records and monitor documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with physician’s orders.
Assist RN with maintaining accuracy of physicians’ orders.
Monitor medication storage, labeling, and proper disposal of obsolete or outdated medications.
Familiarity with Department of Developmental Disabilities rules preferred but not required.
Assess individuals’ health status and collaborate with healthcare providers.
Review medication error reports and assist in development of prevention plans.
May be called upon to coordinate, or assist with, medical appointments.
Training and Support
Act as a resource for unlicensed direct care staff for clinical or medication questions and relevant procedures.
Observe staff displaying medication administration skills and assist with staff training as needed.
