About The Position

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient-centered 50% (20 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC Obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) clinic in Cedar Rapids. This position will primarily support the Cedar Rapids OBGYN Clinic but may float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including Specialty/Outreach, Family Medicine, and/or Pediatrics. We see patients for skilled prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gynecologic conditions, offering expert guidance and support through pregnancies and menopause. Requirements

• Current valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards
• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit.
• Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
• Basic Cardiac Life Support provider
• Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to demonstrate teamwork and autonomy in all aspects of the role.
• Minimum 6 months – 1 year of OBGYN experience.
• Previous EPIC experience.
• OBGYN knowledge/ understanding of policies procedures.
• Previous ambulatory experience.
• Previous immunization experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
• In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel.
• In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
