About The Position

We are now offering a $10,000 SIGN ON BONUS for full time

Primecare Medical Inc. is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in the medical department at the Schuylkill County Prison located in Pottsville, PA.

Full Time LPN - Day/Eve two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
PRN all shifts available

Requirements

• Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state in which the facility is located.
• Clinical decision-making ability.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to function independently and demonstrating clinical competency.
• Ability to gain trust of patients and build a working relationship.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining security of all medical records
• Ensuring strict compliance to all applicable pharmacy regulations
• Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws
• Conducting sick call for inmate/patients and provide treatment for selected minor illnesses and injuries
• Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of nursing care
• Record, retrieve and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record
• Accompanies and assists PCM physicians during facility rounds
