Requirements
- Experience in a memory care community is highly desirable.
- Prior long-term care experience is highly desirable.
- CDP preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Active RI Nursing License (LPN or RN) is required.
- Minimum of 3 years Nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Read Daily Report at the beginning of shifts.
- Supervises nursing care with particular attention to ill Residents.
- Takes vital signs on residents as needed.
- Notes change in condition in residents and notify physician and medical POA.
- Requisitions supplies and equipment.
- Orders medications according to facility routine.
- Recommends changes in resident care when necessary and communicate this to the Director of Wellness.
- Charts all pertinent information in resident's chart in a timely manner.
- Call Physicians and Pharmacies as needed to report discrepancies in orders.
- Provides professional leadership to all nursing personnel.
- Informs residents of any changes in their care.
- Administers medication and treatments as ordered by the physician and charts appropriately when needed.
- Assists nurses' aides and med techs as necessary.
- Fills out incident reports when resident, visitor or employee is injured.
- Advises employees of facility policy regarding employee injury and proper medical attention.
- Notifies the Director of Wellness of all incidents in a timely manner.
- Fills out interagency referral forms.
- Admits, discharges and transfers residents.
- Follows through assigning care for new residents.
- Uses universal infection control precautions and ensures use by nursing personnel.
- Provide our residents with daily care in accordance with our established policies and procedures and assure that the highest degree of quality care will be always maintained.
