About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 3 position is responsible for providing basic nursing care to clients in stable conditions within the Denham Springs Behavioral Health Clinic. This role involves direct patient care for individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and medical conditions, ensuring adherence to the Professional Nurses Practice Act. The LPN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and may oversee the work of lower-level Practical Nurses and paraprofessionals.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice practical nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.
• Two years of practical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to clients receiving treatment for mental illness, substance use disorders, and medical illness.
• Administer prescribed medications and perform injections as required.
• Maintain documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Conduct assessments and screenings for new clients.
• Participate as an active member of an inter-disciplinary Treatment Team.
• Perform standard nursing services including administering screenings, tests, and other required labs.
