About The Position

The position involves providing direct patient care, ongoing education, and reinforcement of care plans in an ambulatory setting under the supervision of a physician or LIP/RN designee. The role requires understanding the functional and developmental age of patients across all age populations. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists registered nurses and providers by collecting data regarding patients' physical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions. Responsibilities include organizing nursing care activities, implementing age-appropriate interventions, evaluating care effectiveness, and ensuring a safe environment. The Medical Assistant (MA) provides clinical and administrative support, assists with patient care, vital signs, laboratory tests, and clinical intake, while also maintaining effective communication with team members and patients.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program for LPNs.
• Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in Virginia prior to onboarding.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent for Medical Assistants.
• Currently enrolled in or completed an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months from the date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support in an ambulatory setting.

• Implement age-appropriate interventions as directed by healthcare providers.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care and assist in patient education.

• Assist with clinical support tasks such as preparing laboratory specimens and performing testing.
• Document and capture charges for clinical services rendered.
• Perform administrative support tasks including scheduling and chart preparation.
