About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Medical Assistant (MA) positions at the University of Virginia Physicians Group in Waynesboro, Virginia, are responsible for providing direct patient care and support in an ambulatory setting. Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program for LPN.
• High School Diploma or equivalent for MA.
• Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in Virginia for LPN.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required for both positions.
• Currently enrolled or completed a Medical Assistant Program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES for MA.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months from the date of hire for MA.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and ongoing education under the supervision of a physician or RN.
• Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of care and progress towards desired outcomes.
• Organize and prioritize nursing care activities based on patient needs.
• Implement age-appropriate interventions as directed by healthcare providers.
• Document and capture charges for clinical support services rendered.
• Perform clinical support tasks such as vital signs, laboratory tests, and patient intake.
• Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling and documentation.
• Maintain a safe environment and ensure the safe delivery of care.
