About The Position

The position involves providing direct patient care, ongoing education, and reinforcement of care plans in an ambulatory setting under the supervision of a physician or LIP/RN designee. The role requires understanding the functional and developmental age of patients across all age populations. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists registered nurses and providers by collecting data on patients' physical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions, organizing nursing care activities, and implementing age-appropriate interventions. The Medical Assistant (MA) provides clinical and administrative support, including patient care, vital signs, laboratory tests, and assisting healthcare professionals during examinations.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program for LPNs.
  • Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in Virginia prior to onboarding.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent for Medical Assistants.
  • Currently enrolled or completed a Medical Assistant Program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES.
  • Hold a current Medical Assistant Certification or obtain it within 6 months from hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative support tasks, such as scheduling and documentation.
  • Demonstrate teamwork in the delivery of patient care.
