About The Position

UPMC Williamsport has an opening for a Casual Licensed Practical Nurse, OP to join the Radiation Oncology team located at the Divine Providence Campus! This is a per diem position that will work variable day shifts and will not work on holidays/weekends. Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience and manager discretion at time of offer. The purpose of this role is to provide professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
• One year clinical experience preferred.
• CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
• Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood.
• Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
• Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
• Comply with all policies and procedures.
• Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
• Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
• Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
• Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
