About The Position

University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 50%25 Licensed Practical Nurse to work in our OBGYN Clinics as a float staff member. Locations will include Washington, Cedar Rapids, North Dodge Street Clinic in Iowa City. Duties to include: Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients. In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse. Performs patient care related to vital signs, lab draws, setting up and assisting with minor procedures, in-clinic treatments, point of care testing and other duties as assigned. Provides psychological support to the patient and family based on assessed needs. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit.
  • Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
