About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for inpatient Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team at Baystate Medical Center (BMC), a Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence. The Heart and Vascular unit is a 34 bed acute care cardiovascular telemetry unit that specializes in providing services for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, TAVR, vascular surgery patients, and cardiac post-procedural patients. Baystate's Regional Heart Attack Program is known nationally for delivering life-saving care, and we can unblock arteries up to 25 minutes sooner than the national standard. Baystate Medical Center is the only hospital in the area that can stop a heart attack instantly by unblocking an artery, available 24/7. Our experts perform more than 80% of all cardiac surgeries in western Massachusetts, making us one of the top three highest-volume medical centers in the state.

Requirements

• Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
• Education: AND required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to post-operative cardiac surgery patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and recovery.
