About the position

Compass Government Solutions LLC is looking for an LPN to provide services for the DiLorenzo TRICARE Health Clinic in Washington, Virginia. In preparation to bid on this contract, we are seeking qualified candidates willing to be included in our proposal as interested and skilled individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient care through a continuum and facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to care, quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Use the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
  • Demonstrate proper assessment, preparation of patients for treatments and procedures, to include surgical interventions.
  • Perform/assist with clinic specific procedures, in accordance with established policies, and guidelines used in the MTF and IAW JC guidelines.
  • Supervise all paraprofessionals necessary in the care and treatment of the patient.
  • Skill in setting up, operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment such as IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units, oxygen analyzers, nebulizers and other clinic specific equipment.
  • Excellent oral communication skills for patient/family education.
  • Prescribes and communicates treatment plans in accordance with established cardiac clinic protocols.
  • Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use.
  • Demonstrate excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and reacts quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Obtain, assess, and report critical lab or diagnostic results to patient’s physician in a timely manner.
  • Act on all medical and therapeutic orders in a timely manner.
  • Participate in functions and other meetings, providing relevant and timely information.
  • Report to the Nurse Manager and take direction from charge nurse and house supervisor.
  • Participate in customer service initiatives and medical readiness activities.
  • Participate in the orientation, training, and evaluation of duty performance of newly assigned contract personnel.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications if required by client.
  • One year of Practical Nurse experience after graduation.
  • Valid and Current, unrestricted license as a Practical Nurse in 1 state, territory or commonwealth of the US.
