About The Position

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - HIV/ID Outpatient Clinic (Onsite) Cedar Park Med is seeking a patient-focused LPN to support day-to-day clinical operations in an HIV/ Infectious Disease outpatient setting. You’ll provide direct patient care (vitals, injections, phlebotomy), assist with visits and treatments, coordinate labs and follow-ups, and deliver compassionate, stigma-free education that supports retention in care. Shift/Time Type: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (35 hrs/wk; hours may adjust based on clinic needs)

Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered LPN license.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS).
  • Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (35 hrs/wk) with flexibility for clinic needs.
  • Strong clinical fundamentals: injections, phlebotomy/specimen handling, vitals, immunizations, and sterile technique.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation.
  • Excellent communication, cultural humility, and commitment to non-judgmental, trauma-informed care.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year in outpatient/ambulatory, HIV/ID, primary care, or community health.
  • Experience supporting ART adherence, PrEP/PEP counseling, STI screening/treatment, and immunization schedules.
  • Prior work with LGBTQIA+ communities and diverse, multilingual populations.
  • Familiarity with EPIC/Cerner (or similar), prior auths, and value-based quality measures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients; obtain vitals, histories, and medication updates; document in EHR.
  • Perform clinical tasks: injections/immunizations, phlebotomy/specimen collection, POCT, EKGs as trained.
  • Prepare patients for provider visits; set up/assist with procedures; ensure exam room readiness and infection control.
  • Manage care coordination: lab and imaging orders, prior authorizations, refill requests, referrals, and follow-ups.
  • Provide patient education on treatment plans, ART adherence, PrEP/PEP basics, STI prevention, and harm-reduction.
  • Triage calls and in-clinic concerns; escalate per protocol; support same-day needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, logs, vaccine inventory, and medication/supply stocks.
  • Uphold HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic safety standards; participate in huddles, QA, and continuous improvement.
