The primary responsibility of a Licensed Practical Nurse is to implement and maintain established nursing objectives and standards, provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the CNA’s.

Requirements

  • Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN in this state.
  • Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
  • Experience in electronic medical records documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer experience in long term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and or critical care clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs like temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respirations.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed by a physician, following facility protocols and under the supervision of an RN.
  • Wound Care: Perform wound care, including changing dressings and monitoring for signs of infection.
  • Hygiene and Mobility: Assist residents with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, and mobility.
  • Nutrition and Hydration: Ensure residents receive proper nutrition and hydration, assisting with feeding if necessary.
  • Patient History: Record a patient's history and current condition.
  • Observation: Observe and document changes in a resident's condition, reporting any concerns to the RN.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • RN Supervision: Work under the supervision of an RN, following their guidance and instructions.
  • CNA Supervision: Supervise certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in providing basic nursing care.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure residents receive comprehensive care.
  • Patient Safety: Maintain a safe environment for residents, following infection control protocols and other safety guidelines.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all care provided, including medications administered, vital signs, and any observations.
  • Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and comfort to residents and their families.
