About The Position

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Helms State Prison | Atlanta, GA Centurion Health is proud to be the provider of medical and mental health services to the Georgia Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our clinical team at Helms State Prison in Atlanta, GA. This role is well suited for nurses who are confident, adaptable, and comfortable working in a structured correctional healthcare environment serving a diverse and high-acuity patient population. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (or ability to obtain)
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Ability to obtain security clearance, including drug screen and criminal background check

Responsibilities

  • Medication administration and monitoring
  • Vital signs, assessments, and patient observations
  • Supporting prenatal and postpartum care plans as directed
  • Accurate clinical documentation and EMR use
  • Responding to medical concerns while following security protocols
  • Collaboration with custody and clinical teams to ensure patient safety
