About The Position

Full Time $2,000 Sign on Bonus $28.84 - $39.34/ DOE Day and Swing Shift's Pierce County's only Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic: Comprehensive Life Resources is looking for a qualified LPN to join our Youth Residential Treatment facility in Tacoma, WA We offer: Medical, Dental, and Vision with 100% paid premiums for employees. 11 paid holidays, 403(b)-retirement plan, Life Insurance, Long term Disability, Employee Assistance Program (up to 6 consultations per year), Mileage reimbursement, Tuition Assistance, Paid Sick and Vacation leave, Bereavement Leave, Student Loan Repayment, and Continuing Education Assistance. All benefits contingent on working a scheduled 40hrs a week. Scope: Nursing services will provide behavioral and physical health services to the Pearl Youth Residence. Nurses will work alongside providers and clinical teams to develop treatment criteria and goals. Nursing will assist in assessing medication efficacy and physical assessments. Nursing will arrange and assist with community appointments Pearl Youth Residency: is one of 5 Children's Long-term Inpatient Programs (CLIP) in the state and we serve youth ages 12-18 who have demonstrated an inability to maintain safety in their home or community.

Requirements

  • Valid WA State Licensed Practical Nurse, or multi-state or compact licensure
  • One year work experience preferred
  • Experience or knowledge of psychotropic medications
  • Current CPR certification preferred (can be completed upon hire)
  • If role requires driving, must have valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and working vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing and medical services to clients
  • Provide education regarding prescribed treatment
  • Document in the progress notes the provision of care and the clinical and behavioral observations of clients
  • Administer and document medications, adhering to state and program guidelines
  • Provide first aid and emergency medical care as needed, following program guidelines
  • Transcribe provider orders, following program protocols
  • Measure and document client vital signs
  • Other duties within the scope of practice as outlined by the Washington State Board of Nursing
  • Attend all mandatory meetings
  • Maintain licensure, certification and other requirements for the position.
  • Observe and assess clients in terms of therapeutic response to medication and the nursing care plan.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living as appropriate
  • Assist in monitoring and documenting medical supplies, floor stock, and pharmacy communication.
  • Assist in all aspects of the laboratory specimen, collection and throughput.
  • Adhere to program’s infection control policy and protocols.
  • Plan and lead educational and information groups for clients as assigned.
  • Work to ensure effective communication among team members during and between shifts.
  • Coordinate with school and staff regarding outside medical appointments and activities.
  • Transport and attend medical appointments with residents
  • Work with team members to create and contribute to a positive learning environment for all.
