About The Position

Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is looking for dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work full-time on the evening shift in the medical department at the Allegany County Jail located in Belmont, NY. Nurses are involved in healthcare emergencies, physical health assessments, initial screenings, medication distribution, nurse sick call, and chronic care clinics. Nurses will also provide assistance to physicians, psychiatrists and dentists. Available Shifts: FT Eve (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM)

Requirements

Active LPN license in the state the facility is located
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multi-task
Strong patient assessment skills
Ability to communicate effectively
Demonstrate clinical competency

Responsibilities

Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Conducting sick call for patients and provide treatment illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. Medical Director.
Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of inmates/patients and participate in the formulation of the plan of care.
Record, retrieve and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.
Providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel.
Maintaining, updating and working with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure.
