About The Position

Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at-risk youth. Mt. Juliet Youth Academy in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee provides trauma-informed residential care for females ages 12 to 17 within a secure, structured Youth Academy setting. Programming includes clinical therapy, education, life skills training, restorative justice, art, music, and recreation. Youth typically remain in care for 6 to 9 months, engaging in individual, family, and group therapy; victim-impact awareness; pre-vocational preparation; and enrichment programming. The small group environment supports emotional healing, family involvement, and reintegration planning. We are hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team in Mt. Juliet,TN. This LPN position is ideal for someone seeking meaningful work in youth behavioral health, juvenile care, or residential treatment. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct nursing care, supporting mental health needs, and helping stabilize youth during their treatment and assessment process. Requirements

  • Active LPN license in Tennessee
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work with youth in challenging situations
  • Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state and to the extent that knowledge is attainable under the law.
  • Must be able to transport clients.
  • Must maintain an appropriate and valid state driver’s license.
  • Must meet state criminal background check requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years working in behavioral health, pediatrics, or juvenile residential care
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and crisis intervention
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and documentation standards

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and monitor for reactions or side effects
  • Conduct intake physical health assessments and screenings
  • Document medical histories and maintain accurate health records
  • Provide basic first aid and support emergency medical situations
  • Collaborate with doctors, nurse practitioners, and behavioral health staff
  • Communicate with guardians, case managers, and outside agencies
  • Ensure compliance with state health regulations and treatment protocols
