Position Overview The LPN’s role is to help educate and assist each client in achieving and maintaining their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being through the provision of medication and treatment administration and through quality, personal care. The LPN must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

  • Must have a current LPN license in the State of Minnesota
  • Must be age 18 or older
  • Must have current First Aid/CPR Certification obtained within 30 days of starting work
  • Must be able to pass Minnesota DHS background study
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
  • Possess maturity, patience, understanding and empathy with recovering individuals and work with a multidisciplinary team
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Daily use of general office and/or residential facility equipment.
  • Lifting (max 25 pounds ), minimal reaching, bending and stooping.
  • Ability to effectively navigate program or office environment such as ascending and descending steps, passing through doorways and entrances, and accessing program/office facilities
  • Conducts self in a professional manner
  • Competent computer skills and able to effectively enter information in various systems
  • Proficiently understand, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Able to effectively document services in writing formatted in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess excellent oral and written communications skills
  • One or more years of experience in substance abuse/mental health treatment

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates and exhibits knowledge around medication administration policy and procedures and provide meaningful feedback to staff
  • Understands and exhibits knowledge around urine analysis and breathalyzer policy and procedure and provide meaningful feedback to staff
  • Applies a variety of helping strategies for reducing negative effects of substance use, abuse, and dependence
