Job Description: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - (Bilingual English/Spanish) Location: Washington Heights , NY Hours/Days: 4 / 10 Hour Shifts; M-F (Between 7-7) Tues or Friday RDO Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) In This Role, You Will: Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments Escort patients to exam rooms Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets Assist physician with exams and/or procedures Prepare and administer Injections Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens Perform point of care lab testing Perform EKGs Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error

  • Current NYS LPN license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.
  • Experience with EMR’s
  • Reliable transportation to any of NYCBS location for patient care needs
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
