About The Position

The LPN provides patient care, health teaching, and counseling in an oncology environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed independent provider. This role supports individualized patient care and assists patients in adapting to their diagnosis while working toward the highest possible level of wellness.

Requirements

License or permit to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York.
Graduation from an accredited practical nursing school’s LPN program.
NOTE: Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.

Responsibilities

Deliver routine nursing care and clinical procedures
Perform patient screening, venipuncture, and monitoring of plateletpheresis and whole‑blood donor procedures
Ensure donor and product safety while maintaining compliance with all State and Federal regulations
Participate in patient and donor education and counseling
Support quality, safety, and care‑coordination initiatives
Engage in ongoing professional development through trainings, workshops, and continuing education
