Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments within scope of practice (oral, enteral, parenteral, suppository, etc.)
- Perform sterile and aseptic procedures including wound care, tracheostomy care, gastrostomy/jejunostomy care, and catheter care
- Monitor and document patient responses to medications and treatments
- Ensure adequate availability of medications and clinical supplies
- Provide and receive detailed shift reports
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Complete admission nursing assessments
- Assist with Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments, quarterly reviews, and care plan development
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings
