Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments within scope of practice (oral, enteral, parenteral, suppository, etc.)
  • Perform sterile and aseptic procedures including wound care, tracheostomy care, gastrostomy/jejunostomy care, and catheter care
  • Monitor and document patient responses to medications and treatments
  • Ensure adequate availability of medications and clinical supplies
  • Provide and receive detailed shift reports
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Complete admission nursing assessments
  • Assist with Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments, quarterly reviews, and care plan development
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings
