Department/Unit Summary The Primary Care and Pediatric Clinic at Ashley Regional embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, which are essential for providing specialized care to patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program
  • Current Utah LPN License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care to patients in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Prioritizes and organizes delivery of patient care under the supervision and delegation of an RN; accepting a variety of assignments and consulting with other disciplines as appropriate.
  • Assists in staff development activities.
  • Orients, instructs and trains others, emphasizing departmental, as well as interdepartmental cooperation and teamwork.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to patients' comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress and aids patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis.
  • Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
  • May administer medication as directed by the Physician and RN.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Assists RN with development of plan of care.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
