About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides essential nursing care within a secure healthcare environment, supporting physicians and healthcare teams in delivering safe, effective, and timely medical services. This role includes direct patient care, medication administration, documentation, and maintaining compliance with healthcare and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing with LPN certification
  • Active and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of employment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, secure environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic nursing duties, including executing physician orders and assisting with examinations and treatments
  • Conduct medication administration, including pill call and sick call, following established protocols
  • Prepare examination rooms, equipment, and patient lists for provider visits
  • Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior and medical conditions
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records and reports
  • Ensure proper control, storage, and inventory of medications, syringes, and medical supplies
  • Respond to medical emergencies and perform clinical procedures within scope of licensure
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of medical equipment and work areas
  • Assist in evaluating medical services to improve efficiency and avoid duplication
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols
  • Support preparation of reports, logs, and documentation per policy requirements
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Assist in safety evaluations and incident reporting
  • Coordinate or assist with patient movement for medical care
  • Participate in documentation reviews, investigations, and related administrative processes as needed
  • Support accreditation standards (e.g., NCCHC, ACA, JCAHO) by maintaining quality of care
  • Work in a secure and structured environment while adhering to all safety protocols
