About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a variety of professional nursing duties in compliance with the Skilled Nursing Facility regulations and follows established policies and procedures for our busy TCU Transitional Care Unit in Edina, MN - Aurora on France TCU. 16 hours per two weeks Evening shift Every other weekend Sat/Sunday and holiday rotation Aurora on France is a new, innovative senior community attached to Fairview Southdale Hospital in the heart of Edina, MN. Located conveniently near Hwy. 62 and France Ave. and is on a bus line. Aurora has 136 units offering a full continuum of care including Transitional Care, Enhanced Care and Assisted Living/Memory Care. Requirements
- MN LPN licensure
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or Red Cross CPR for Professional Rescuers (3 week grace period for BLS)
- Able to work independently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous healthcare experience
- Comfortable using computers, hand held devices, phones and fax machine
Responsibilities
- Provides skilled nursing care such as; implementing practitioners’ orders, ordering and assisting with medications and supplies, operates medical equipment, and charting practices
- Lifts and transfer residents as needed, Initiates emergency treatment as needed
- Monitors work and performance of unlicensed staff
- Updates RN with current observation and completes documentation of resident health status
- Communicates changes in residents conditions to relevant individuals
- May support RN by completing resident assessments, service agreements and care plans
