About The Position

We are seeking a part time motivated and skilled LPN Nurse to join our team. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in assisting both the surgeon and the patients throughout various stages of treatment. Their responsibilities often include a combination of clinical care, patient education, and administrative support.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), with at least 1-2 years of experience in a surgical or circulating nurse role, preferably in a plastic surgery, dermatology, or cosmetic surgery setting.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required, depending on the clinical setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with plastic surgery procedures, such as facelifts, breast augmentations, liposuction, and rhinoplasty is highly preferred.
  • Certification in perioperative nursing (e.g., CNOR) may be preferred for surgical roles.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting initial assessments and reviewing patient medical histories.
  • Preparing patients for procedures by explaining pre-operative instructions.
  • Administering pre-operative medications under supervision.
  • Ensuring all necessary consent forms and documentation are completed.
  • Setting up procedure rooms with sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Assisting during minor in-office procedures such as Botox, fillers, laser treatments, or minor excisions.
  • Handing instruments to the surgeon during in-office procedures.
  • Monitoring patients' vital signs during procedures (if trained and within the scope of practice).
  • Assisting with wound care and dressing changes.
  • Providing post-op instructions regarding wound care and medication use.
  • Changing dressings and monitoring healing progress.
  • Reporting any signs of infection or complications to the surgeon.
  • Educating patients on recovery expectations and post-op care.
  • Assisting with follow-up appointments and answering patient inquiries.
  • Demonstrating proper use of compression garments or post-op skincare regimens.
  • Updating electronic health records (EHR) with patient progress.
  • Coordinating lab work, diagnostic tests, and referrals as needed.
  • Ensuring the clinic maintains infection control and sterilization protocols.
  • Managing inventory of medical supplies, injectables, and skincare products.
  • Assisting with patient scheduling and front-office coordination as needed
