About The Position

The Multispecialty Family Medicine Clinic is located on the 13th floor at the Adult Outpatient Pavilion where our team sees patients of all population ages and stages of health. Joining the Family Medicine team will also mean that you will be joining a group of caregivers who are passionate about their patients and each other. The Triage Nurse is responsible for responding to patient messages and calling the patients to determine the urgency of their health issues. They will share responsibility for managing patients in the clinic who are considered in need of more urgent care and also assist with patient visits by performing PPD placement, PPD reading, giving injections, or other patient needs. Our clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. No weekends, nights or holidays are required. Previous triage experience is highly preferred. The LPN job commences to integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. This role assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This role also provides direction, education, and begins to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level. The LPN job delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. This role safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions."

Requirements

  • LPN licensure in Virginia or eligible
  • Current LPN Licensure in Virginia
  • AHA BLS Certification or equivalent
  • Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing
  • Follows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders, standards, and practice guidelines such as treatments and organizes work to carry out assignment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous triage experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience as a LPN in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice
