Simpson is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic and seasoned leadership team. Duties and Responsibilities: The LPN will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents in an assisted living or personal care setting. The LPN will work under the supervision of the AL/PC Administrator and will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, providing wound care, and ensuring the safety and comfort of residents.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent (ie: GED) – If applicant attended secondary school outside the US, Diploma must be translated to English language if printed in native language.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse training program.
  • Current Pennsylvania LPN License with no judgments or disciplinary action.
  • CPR Certified
  • First Aid Certified
  • 5 or more years' experience working as an LPN in long term care.
  • Must have knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents/patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Must be able to work as a team member and follow directions.
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations and respond appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • AED Certified
  • Experience in a memory care facility is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician. In accordance with Simpson’s medication administration policy.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide wound care, including cleaning and dressing wounds.
  • Monitor and document changes in residents' health status and report any concerns to the AL/PC Administrator.
  • Provide in-dwelling catheter care occasionally when needed.
  • Provide wound-care occasionally when needed.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, as needed.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning of residents.
  • Document all care provided and maintain accurate resident records.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures related to resident care and safety.
  • Assist in creating, updating and maintain resident care plans as necessary
  • Participate in continuing education and training to maintain licensure and stay current with nursing practices through Relias on-line training as required under PA Regulations on an annual basis
