About The Position

We are seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support an Adult Psychiatric Unit and Psychiatric Float Pool . Candidates must have prior psychiatric experience . Pediatric experience is preferred but not required. This role involves providing direct patient care in an inpatient behavioral health setting with minimal supervision. Multiple shifts are available, including day and day/evening schedules. The position requires every other weekend coverage and some holiday availability .

Requirements

  • Active New York State LPN license
  • CPR certification (current or eligible for recertification)
  • Minimum of 1 year of LPN experience
  • Psychiatric/Behavioral Health experience required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal orientation
  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license – minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Psychiatric / Behavioral Health experience – required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior inpatient hospital experience
  • Pediatric experience
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • EKG application experience
  • Inpatient hospital experience – highly desired (minimum 1 year )
  • EKG application experience – highly desired
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience – strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in an inpatient behavioral health setting
  • Perform patient intake activities, including vital signs and documentation
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist during procedures
  • Set up trays for injections and assist with routine clinical tasks
  • Administer injections and assist with procedures as permitted by scope
  • Measure, record, and monitor patient progress and vital signs
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient care activities
  • Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas in a clean and organized manner
  • Support general office and unit operations, including scheduling and chart preparation
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team
  • Observe and report patient responses to treatments in a timely manner
  • Implement nursing care activities under RN supervision as outlined in care plans
  • Participate in nursing unit operations and quality improvement activities
