Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved practical nursing program License: Current LPN/PN to practice in the Commonwealth of VA and be in good standing with the Board of health Professions
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required one month from hire date
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year of hire
  • Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually.
  • Current LPN/PN to practice in the state of KY and be in good standing with the Board of health Professions

Responsibilities

  • LPN-Clinic As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice
  • Performs assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
  • May administer medication.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Assists RN with development of plan of care.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Schedule appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
  • Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.
  • Non-Essential Functions Attends clinic meetings. Maintains a clean and safe working environment. Reports all incidents, hazards, drug interactions, and initiate appropriate action. Completes safety instructional programs.
  • Assist other team members when time permits.
