About The Position

University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient centered 80% (32 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our Northgate Urology Clinic. University of Iowa Health Care's specialty clinic provides a convenient location for medical and surgical care for male and female patients, and selected services for pediatric patients. This position will mainly support our patients at Northgate Urology Clinic but could float to other clinic locations based on clinical needs/hours. Our experts provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment in the clinic setting as well as surgical interventions for all urologic system diseases and disorders. University of Iowa Health Care is a national leader in diagnosing and treating bladder and urinary disorders in both adults and children. Our multidisciplinary teams are formed from medical and surgical specialties across the institution to provide patient-centered care. Our team develop relationships and get to know our patients and monitor patient care history and deliver personalized, compassionate care every time to each patient. Requirements

  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit.
  • Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.
  • Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
  • Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Family Medicine or Urology Clinic experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a team-oriented environment is preferred.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience with computer skills and ability to navigate EMR – Epic, Word, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Support our Urology Clinic under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse.
  • Perform technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting.
  • Use electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
