Requirements

  • Must have completed a technical program in nursing.
  • Current LPN licensure.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Commitment to the team problem-solving approach using a patient-focused model.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with existing policies and procedures.
  • Assist the medical provider in the delivery of patient care and patient teaching according to clinic policies and protocols.
  • Ensure that patient charts are prepared properly before patient visits.
  • Efficiently room patients and collect all relevant and necessary information for providers to make informed decisions.
  • Contribute to the assessment of patient's health status by collecting, recording, and reporting objective and subjective data.
  • Timely, consistently, and accurately document patient care.
  • Work effectively with providers and patients to schedule surgeries, imaging, lab, etc.
  • Complete pre-authorization for all procedures or testing to ensure effective reimbursement.
  • Answer phones and respond to messages in a timely manner.
  • Communicate and interact with all customers (patients, visitors, co-workers, administrative staff, and physicians) in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked patient care and work area.
