About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Outpatient Observation Unit team. This position is full-time, working the third shift from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. The patient population consists of outpatient/observation patients admitted from the Emergency Department for a short stay of 24 hours or less, caring for a variety of diagnoses including chest pain, asthma, syncope, anemia, back pain, DVT, heart failure, and many others. Requirements

• Successfully passed the Board of Registration in Nursing Examination.
• Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of LPN experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an outpatient or observation unit setting.
• Certification in specialty areas related to nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to outpatient/observation patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist with patient education and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with RNs and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
