About The Position

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) POSITION SUMMARY Assesses, plans and implements the nursing care of residents within the facility setting with the supervision of a Registered Nurse in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Gordon Memorial Health Services. Registered Nurse (RN) POSITION SUMMARY Provides and performs oversight, delegation, and coordination of total nursing care with other health care providers to meet holistic care needs of residents in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Gordon Memorial Health Services.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Currently licensed as a LPN with the State of Nebraska
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Knowledge of long-term care rules and regulations
• General nursing practices under LPN scope of practice
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Knowledge of general nursing theories and practices
• Clinical background in nursing practice
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nebraska
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

• Previous LPN experience in long-term care setting preferred
• Previous RN experience in a long term care setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of resident care, to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate resident care to achieve prioritized resident outcomes according to the LPN scope of practice.
• Collaborates with Medical Staff, management and other health care providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of resident care.
• Performs emergency treatment as required in accordance with LPN scope of practice.
• Performs and maintains documentation
• Promotes and ensures resident and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of resident care, to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate resident care to achieve prioritized resident outcomes
• Performs emergency treatment as required.
• Communicates effectively.
