About The Position
Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Family & Internal Medicine Care team. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge to coordinate and perform hands on acute patient care at the bedside. Position Specifics: o Department: Family & Internal Medicine o Core Function: Nursing o Schedule: Monday-Friday, Days, 40 Hrs/wk, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM o Facility: Decatur-Family & Internal Medicine o Location: Decatur, IL o Compensation that aligns with your experience
Requirements
- Completion of state approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Training Program is required.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of practice is required.
- Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Medical Assistant (MA) Certification/Registration required or must be obtained within 90 days of start date from one of the following credentialing organizations: 1. Certified MA from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) 2. Registered MA from American Medical Technologists (AMT) 3. National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) 4. Certified Clinical MA (CCMA) from National Healthcare Association (NHA) 5. Registered MA from American Allied Health (AAH) 6. Nationally Registered CMA (NRCMA) from National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) 7. Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) or Medical Assistant Certification (MAC) from American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) 8. Podiatric MA Certified (PMAC) from American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) 9. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from International Joint Commission on Allied Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO)
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required within 60 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- 1-2 years of LPN experience is preferred. Additional proficiencies may be required in some clinical areas.
- One year of clinical experience - Preferred
- 1 or more years of Medical Assistant experience may be considered in lieu of completion of program per department discretion.
