About The Position

A clinically competent licensed practical nurse who utilizes the nursing process under the direction of the RN to deliver care to the neonate to geriatric population as defined in the unit-specific structural standards of the assigned area.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN school of nursing
• Currently licensed as LPN in the State of Maryland
• Certification in BCLS required
• Successful completion of clinical orientation (phlebotomy, unit secretary, medication administration, nursing tech)
• Ability to effectively convey verbal and written information
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to organize and manage time effectively setting appropriate priorities
• Ability to make independent decisions consistent with current policies, procedures and nursing standards
• Ability to perform simple mathematical functions correctly
• Ability to adapt hours to variable and changing needs of the hospital
• Ability to effectively function as a member of a collaborative team
• Ability to respond to emergency situations appropriately
• Demonstrate leadership potential
• Ability to operate personal computer and familiarity with database programs
