About The Position

Provides for the delivery of professional nursing care under the direction of the provider. The position involves performing general nursing care to patients, administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards, and coordinating patient care activities for the clinic. Responsibilities include preparing equipment and assisting the provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing of patients, observing, recording, and reporting patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to the provider, overseeing appointment scheduling, and ensuring preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. The role also involves maintaining timely flow of patients, greeting patients, preparing them for physical examinations, screening patients for appropriate information including obtaining health history and taking vitals, documenting obtained information in patient charts, instructing patients in the collection of samples and tests, responding to patient phone calls in a timely manner, educating patients and families about diagnostic processes, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness, suggesting solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints, maintaining exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials, ensuring cleanliness, preparing lists of medical supplies needed, assuring appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol, and performing quality control and maintaining records on all lab testing.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Board of Nursing.
  • An active license in the state of practice upon hire.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general nursing care to patients.
