Licensed Practical Nurse LPN–Medical Assistant Role (Urgent Care)

Minimum hourly rate starts at $17/hour and is commensurate with experience. Bonus potential of up to $600/month. We welcome candidates from a variety of clinical backgrounds. Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- BLS certification required at time of hire (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
- Candidates with less than one year of Medical Assistant experience must hold one of the following certifications: CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA) CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT) NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT) NRCMA – Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (NAHP)
- In lieu of a Medical Assistant certification, we will also accept: 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a hospital or urgent care setting 1+ years of phlebotomy experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN) EMT – Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant
- Candidates without an MA certification must obtain one within 15 months of hire
- CPOE certification for order entry is required within two weeks of start date.
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred
- Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Front desk or patient registration experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
- Schedule appointments and process co-pays
- Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
- Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
- Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
- Assist providers with patient care and procedures
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
- Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
- Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks
- Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment
- All other duties as assigned.
