About The Position
Adelphi is seeking a substitute Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/ Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide nursing support services in a school setting located in Brownsville, Texas. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering student care under established protocols while collaborating with school staff and supervising RNs. Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- LVN/ LPN license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
Responsibilities
- Provide basic nursing care and first aid for student illness or injury
- Perform routine clinical procedures (vitals, glucose checks, inhaler/nebulizer support)
- Administer medications as allowed by licensure and school policy
- Implement existing care plans (IHPs/EAPs) but does not create or modify them
- Support health office operations and maintain a safe clinical environment
- Assist with infection control and communicable disease monitoring
- Participate in emergency response and student stabilization
- Report and escalate more complex conditions to the RN
- Any other duties as assigned
