About The Position

This position is filled by a licensed practical nurse who, as a result of educational and clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide nursing care; ensures quality focused and cost-effective care delivery outcomes; functions within a collaborative practice to enhance quality of care; and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Adaptability is essential for the hospice LPN, as work schedule and daily work load change frequently to meet patient needs. Responsible and accountable for direct patient care within scope of practice for assigned patients in hospice under the direction of a registered nurse within the nursing team. Must be competent in a wide variety of nursing skills. Responsible and accountable for the care given to the patient and for the decision regarding which nursing tasks can be safely delegated to licensed and unlicensed persons involved in patient care. Responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and promoting a team effort among co-workers. Responsible and accountable to know, own and energize the vision, mission, values and standards of Hospice of the Ozarks.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensure: Current Arkansas or Compact State PN license in good standing. Valid and clean Driver's License, reliable transportation and agency required liability insurance to complete home visits. Active personal automobile liability insurance coverage consisting of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident for bodily injury required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year acute care nursing experience preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS required
  • Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required. Driving required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous nursing experience in a medical-surgical environment preferred.
