About The Position

The Diagnostic Medical and Vascular Sonographer PRN at AdventHealth Lake Mary ER is responsible for performing a variety of ultrasound procedures under general supervision. This role involves working with patients of all ages, assisting physicians with interventional procedures, and ensuring high-quality imaging in accordance with departmental protocols. The position is per diem, offering flexibility in scheduling, and is integral to providing exceptional care in a state-of-the-art emergency healthcare facility.

Requirements

• Graduate of Ultrasound Program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• ARDMS credentials including Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer RDMS (AB), RDMS (OB/GYN), and Registered Vascular Technology RVT (VT)
• Graduate of Vascular Ultrasound Program (Preferred)
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field (Preferred)
• Breast Sonography knowledge (Preferred)
• Pediatric and Neuro Sonography knowledge (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform general Sonography and Vascular Sonography procedures according to department protocols.
• Assist physicians with interventional procedures.
• Select practical applications and technical factors for ultrasound procedures.
• Obtain high-quality scans in relation to patient body habitus and NPO prep status.
• Review all images on the ultrasound machine and fill out the Ultrasound worksheet in a timely manner.
• Complete exams promptly and evaluate patient prep status for scheduling.
• Utilize the computer system to update exam status and ensure charges match procedures completed.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment safely and adhere to infection control standards.
