About The Position

We are looking for dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work in the medical department at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections located in Manchester, NH. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care and perform duties under supervision of an RN. $10,000 Sign-On Bonus!! Current Openings: FT 1st shift- 7a-7p LPN or RN, PT/FT 2nd shift LPN: 30-40 hrs. per week, FT 3rd shift x2- 9p-7a with rotating weekend. RN or LPN. FT MAT Dosing Nurse- Shift is currently 7-5p but would need flexibility if it were to go back to 11-9p or 1-11p. Can be LPN or RN.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of New Hampshire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to function under supervision.
  • Demonstrate clinical competency.
  • Experience in correctional health care delivery system, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is communicated to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintaining, updating and working with electronic medical records and ensuring that they are secure.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Conducting sick call for inmate/patients and providing treatment for illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by PCM Medical Director.
  • Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of inmates/patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of care.
  • Recording, retrieving and filing medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.
  • Participating in a 2 week orientation period where you will be training on-the-job and shadowing with the nursing staff.
