Requirements

  • Graduated an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
  • Current New York State Practical Nurse License or Permit.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in critical care or hospital environment.
  • Basic Skills Certifications (CPR).

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care assignments within the LPN scope of practice to ensure safety and deliver an exceptional patient experience.
  • Promote and maintain compliance with Joint Commission, NYS Department of Health, Infection Control, and all applicable regulatory standards.
  • Under the direction of a provider or RN, educate patients and families on health promotion, disease management, and available resources.
  • Utilize pharmacology knowledge to safely administer medications in accordance with UHS Hospitals policies and procedures.
  • Maintain CLIA Waived Lab standards by performing lab tests, quality controls, and proficiency validations, including tri-annual AAFP testing and credentialing as required.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure seamless coordination of care and optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, review PI data, and assist in developing and implementing improvement plans.
  • Engage in ongoing educational opportunities to maintain competency and support continuous learning.
