About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice. As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.

Requirements

• Diploma from an accredited nursing school
• Active LPN license in the state of Indiana
• Dermatology certification required within 6 months of hire
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with others in a team setting
• Positive attitude toward problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Scribe for the provider
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Documentation of care using the Nextech EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
