About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit . This role involves providing nursing care to patients aged 5–17 in an acute care psychiatric setting . The LPN will support physicians and registered nurses in delivering quality patient care while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

Requirements

• Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• At least 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience
• Experience working with children and adolescents (ages 5–17)
• CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Inpatient hospital experience
• Phlebotomy experience
• IV insertion skills
• EKG application experience
• Experience using EMR systems

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric and adolescent psychiatric patients
• Monitor and document vital signs, patient progress, and treatment responses
• Assist physicians and RNs during examinations and clinical procedures
• Prepare patients for medical exams and treatments
• Administer medications and injections as directed
• Assist with procedures such as phlebotomy, IV insertion, and EKG application when required
• Observe and report behavioral or medical changes in patients
• Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Support daily nursing unit operations and maintain clinical areas
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Assist with scheduling, chart preparation, and general administrative tasks when needed
• Follow safety, infection control, and facility policies
