About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at HOC Jail Franklin plays a crucial role in providing care to underserved and vulnerable patients. This position involves working under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring high-quality treatment and support in a correctional facility environment. The LPN will contribute to individualized treatment plans and collaborate with healthcare practitioners to deliver effective medical care.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions under RN supervision.
• Implement treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, including administering medications and performing diagnostic tests.
• Collaborate in controlled substance counts and respond to health emergencies according to established protocols.
• Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures and document nursing encounters using SOAP charting.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.
