About The Position

The primary responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse, Child Crisis are to provide direct and indirect services, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, to individuals in need of crisis assessment, injection clinic, or outpatient services.

Requirements

  • Associates: Nursing, High School Diploma (Required)
  • Drivers License (Valid) - USA
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - State Board of Nursing
  • Experience working with children/adolescents with a mental health diagnosis and/or substance use disorder | 1 year | Required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with children/youth/adolescents in a Crisis setting | Not Required
  • Psychiatric Nursing Experience | Not Required

Responsibilities

  • Schedule individuals for crisis and assessment services and triage individuals who present with emergent medical and/or psychiatric problems.
  • Perform clinical intakes with individuals requesting services, coordinate with screening/referral and individuals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Complete documentation required to ensure that the medical record for crisis and assessment services meets state and accreditation standards.
  • Schedule individuals for the Injection Clinic as well as doing injections of psychotropic medication, educate and support individuals about medication.
  • Engage with drug company representatives who supply samples or coupons.
  • Input electronic medical record documentation, including checking for Medicaid, IPRS, and Medicare status of individual receiving services.
  • Mail correspondence to individuals receiving services and the provider community.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required.
  • Maintain certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as service definitions related to specific program areas.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations.
  • Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
