About The Position

Legacy Village located in Xenia, OH is an independent living, assisted living and memory care community with a team of health care professionals that is unmatched in the area! We are owned and operated by National Church Residences, the nation’s largest provider of affordable senior housing and health care services. We are seeking an LPN Charge Nurse who will share in our vision to advance better living and care for seniors! The LPN Charge Nurse makes observations on an advanced level, report and records observations appropriately, forms nursing judgments and carries out nursing actions based upon understanding of the scientific principles involved.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a vocational school of practical nursing.
  • One to two years of experience preferred.
  • Current Nurse License.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, provide and direct nursing care in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Make observations on an advanced level; report and record observations appropriately; form nursing judgments and carry out nursing actions.
  • Follow established standards of nursing practices and assume responsibility for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Perform daily rounds, develop and implement accurate comprehensive care plans based on each resident’s needs.
  • Follow established policies and procedures for passing medications and treatments.
  • Order and credit medications as needed, keeping accurate accounting of all medications.
  • Follow staffing guidelines and make nursing assignments.
  • Monitor diets and supervise meal trays and snacks served to residents.
  • Ensure employees follow the chain of command in a manner consistent with the personnel policies.
  • Assign nursing assistants and ensure the efficient completion of their assignments.
  • Participate in the performance evaluation process of nursing assistants.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with residents, peers, families, managers, and visitors.
  • Document resident information timely, accurately and confidentially according to the procedures.
  • Adhere to the guidelines as outlined in the Resident Rights documentation.
  • Ensure that residents are safe and demonstrate proper use of equipment.
  • Practice universal precautions and life safety measures.
