About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse, under the direct supervision of the Birth Center Charge Nurses, Assistant Nurse Manager and Nurse Manager, will assist in providing safe and effective nursing care as assigned and qualified to perform in the Birth Center. In collaboration with staff RNs, providing direct patient care, cleaning and maintaining equipment and environment, ordering/stocking supplies in assigned areas and some patient transport are components of the position. The position requires an understanding of the Birth Center's policies and procedures, state and federal regulations and guidelines to assist with the appropriate provision of services. Specific skills also include ability to communicate with the patient, healthcare team, caregivers, families and volunteer supervision as directed by the Providers. The Licensed Practical Nurse may assist staff with the implementation of a new program, quality improvement tasks and may assist with supervision of volunteers with specific tasks as directed by providers.
